Winters are wonderful until you have to get out of your bed and a warm blanket to go somewhere.’ I enjoy fashion, but in the winter, it takes a back seat. The fight begins with the concept that “I want to look beautiful,” but how can I do that with piles of garments that I’m about to drown in? If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent more time reading a fashion blog than you’ve spent reading anything else.
Dressing up smartly in the winter seemed impossible until I worked out how to make a winter capsule wardrobe for myself. Have you ever seen those gals that dress up in such nice winter attire and appear to be so well-dressed? I aspired to be like them. Having a winter capsule wardrobe is a great way to be “that girl.”
Doesn’t that sound like a significant investment? But what if I told you that you can make it up to 75% of the way with items already in your closet?
What is a Winter Capsule Wardrobe
A capsule wardrobe consists of a few key pieces that may be restyled in a variety of ways. Having a capsule wardrobe also entails purchasing items that will not go out of style for a long time.
Let me show you how to put together a winter capsule wardrobe using 9 winter fashion basics.
1. Versatile Turtle Necks
Starting with the most basic yet chic winter garment that we all need in our closets. It’s just a (or several) turtlenecks. Put something on them, wear them as is, layer them, change up the bottom, and you’ll be OK.
Wearing a turtleneck and tucking it into a cropped illusion and pairing it with wide-legged pants is my favourite winter hack. Super stylish!
2. Denim Jackets
They go with everything and keep you warm in the winter. Also, are you even a winter fashionista if you aren’t wearing denim on denim at least once?
3. Blanket Wrap Scarf
On cold winter days, this accessory is a must-have. They’ll keep you warm and toasty while also adding a layer of elegance to any ensemble. Color coordination, how you tie them, and the fabrics they’re made of all come together to make new combinations with your current winter style. Experiment if you want.
4. Long Cardigans/Trench Coats
Here’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for: the head turner! Long cardigans or trench coats
They are, without a question, the most trendy winter accessories to purchase. They have the potential to elevate your entire winter clothing game. Investing in neutral colours so you can re-wear them is a great tip for them.
Personally, I am partial to the soft girl appearance. As a result, I’ve styled these in that manner.
5. Statement Maxi Skirts
There’s a good chance you didn’t see this one coming! However, you’ll need some out-of-the-box things to achieve that high-street winter fashion vibe.
For the light winters, the striking maxi skirts are perfect. A knee-high boot might be added to the ensemble for chilly winter nights. That is definitely a New York street style look!
Conclusion
Don’t be scared to experiment with new styles as you add to your wardrobe throughout time! Wardrobe classics like these will act as a backdrop to the star-studded pieces you’ll be sprinkling throughout each season.
