It is awards season and with that, the Oscars is still one of those events that we await on a yearly basis. While we eagerly want to know who would win in each of the categories, we also want to know how the biggest stars would dress up and whose designs they would wear.

Before, we would make up a list of hits and misses. But then again, it is the celebrities’ personality that will shine throughout the whole event. In no particular order, these are my top five looks in no particular order.

Michelle Yeoh in Dior. The actress came in a white dress with feathers and fringe details that make the look pristine yet playful, sophisticated yet fashion-forward.

Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton. It may be simple but it has fashion in all the right places starting off with color blocking of aqua blue top in a black long mermaid skirt. It has a play on texture with the use of velvet fabric with draping in the right places.

Nicole Kidman in Armani. The black dress is always a classic. So when the star wore this single sleeved number with silver beaded or sequined floral accents, she looked all the more elegant.

Angela Bassett in Moschino. Now talk about royalty by wearing this purple frock. It is a refreshing hue in a sea of blacks and whites. I love how the neckline has a bow accent that does not overpower the whole ensemble. The ruched details made the silhouette structured but the dress ends with a flowy train.

Sandra Oh in Giambattista Valli. Another pop of color, the vibrant golden yellow chiffon dress made her look every inch like a whimsical goddess as it is pleated, draped and flowy. Plus the necklace made a stylish accent.
