If you’re not familiar with the term, a crossbody bag refers to any handbag that can be worn across your body and kept in place with an adjustable strap. These bags are the perfect alternative to totes and other handbags that are carried over your shoulder, as they keep your hands free while also staying on your person at all times. Today I’m going to share 3 tips on how to wear a crossbody bag.
1) Wearing it Low and Casual
A crossbody bag is an excellent way to carry your essentials without having them weighing down your shoulder, but it’s not the most practical for every outfit. If you want something that will look stylish with any outfit, then wearing your crossbody bag low and casual is the way to go.
2) Wearing it High and Chic
If you’re looking for a way to wear your crossbody bag in an elevated, classic way, then consider sporting it high up on your waist. This method is perfect for those of us who want the hands-free convenience of carrying our stuff around but don’t want to sacrifice style.
1) To wear it high and chic, start by placing the strap over your head and let it hang down in front of you. Then slide one arm through the strap so that the bag sits comfortably on one side of your hip.
2) Fold the other end of the strap over your opposite shoulder so that it lays across your back with both ends hanging at approximately equal lengths from each side.
3) Now simply tuck one end into itself or loop both ends together and secure them with a small knot or even just tucking them under another part of the strap if you prefer a looser look.
3) Wearing it in the Front
There are two ways that you can wear your crossbody bag in the front. One way is over one shoulder, and the other way is over both of your shoulders with it hanging down in the front. For this look, you may want to wear a longer blouse or cardigan (depending on the season) so that your bag isn’t seen from behind.
