Carrie Bradshaw Just Confirmed It – High Heels Are Officially Back

Pass the Compeed.

Carrie Bradshaw Shoe Closet

We suspected as much on the streets of Paris – and now it’s been confirmed by Carrie Bradshaw. The high heels, after an enforced hiatus when slippers, trainers, and hiking boots took over, are back in business.

As more photos from the set have emerged since the new show, And Just Like That, started filming in July, Bradshaw and the gang have been putting their best feet forward in towering platforms, classic court heels, and stacked Mary-Janes. (There was one incident involving a pair of Birkenstocks, but let’s not dwell on that, shall we?)

And with the latest promo photo showing our hero’s shoe closet – with shimmering pairs from Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, and some stacked black sandals that mega-fans will recognize from the first movie – there’s never been a better time to give your ballet pumps a break for something with a little more boost.

In Paris, the street stylers definitely got the memo – and seemed, as a collective, to have returned to an old reliable: the court heel. Manolo Blahnik’s Hangisi – a favorite of Bradshaw’s, and brides since she wore that peacock blue pair to marry Mr. Big, not to mention Kate Middleton – is the ultimate, but we also spotted pairs by Amina Muaddi, Roger Vivier, Fendi, Prada, and Chanel.

It seems the immediate polish of the pointed pump is making a comeback. And with party season just around the corner, not to mention the show’s premiere, now’s the time to get reacquainted with the heel section of your shoe wardrobe.

Tiffany Hsu

Tiffany Hsu's pointed black High Heels

Tiffany Hsu’s pointed black High Heels are sinfully sleek, especially when worn with the naughty-yet-nice combination of a super short mini and sheer tights. Neous’ Elgin Slingbacks stand at 5.5cm – a sensible height that won’t strain your arches as much as stilettos if it’s been a while – but will look razor sharp with everything from leather trousers to fluid silk dresses. Amina Muaddi’s Romy, a black suede pump with a killer heel and a waved edge of diamanté, might be the sexiest shoe we’ve ever clapped our eyes on. And just like that, we’re back on the Compeed.
