Red Lipsticks – My Top 5

It’s that time of year when red lipsticks start to appear on the streets, and if you’re anything like me, you have more than one red lipstick. There are so many various types and colours of red, but today I’m simply going to share my top 5 favourite red lipsticks that I think look best on my medium/light skin with a yellow undertone.

1- You already know how much I adore Bite Beauty lipsticks! Because they’re extremely moisturising on the lips, I frequently grab one of these lipsticks when I’m experiencing dry lips. And, of course, now that winter is here, I’m dealing with a lot of dry lips. And, don’t you think this colour is excellent for this time of year?

2- This lipstick is brand new to my collection, but I adore how shiny it is. It’s very pigmented and bright, and it lasts a long time on the lips while appearing to be a lip gloss. If you’ve seen these lipsticks in stores, you’ll notice how sleek and edgy the packaging is! This is the iconic “Christmas Red” that every woman wants in their lipstick collection, in my opinion, for my skin tone.

3- Liquid lipsticks are my favourite since they stay longer than traditional lipsticks and are, in my opinion, easier to maintain. This limited-edition Milani Amore Matte liquid lipstick was in high demand everywhere when it was released this fall. I was overjoyed when I was able to obtain two pieces from the collection, knowing that this hue would be useful over the holiday season. It’s a stunning, bright crimson that feels great on the lips. It’s not as drying as some of my liquid lipsticks!

4– Now we’re going into the reds a little more, but I adore a dark, vampy lip colour. I had and used this Too Faced red last winter, so it was a given that it would make my top 5 reds. This formula is incredibly pleasant to wear, even though it isn’t a liquid lipstick that dries to a matte. It’s non-drying, has a semi-glossy texture, and lasts for hours on the lips. If I know I’ll be eating a lot, this is the lipstick I reach for because it stays put for the most part and is easy to reapply.

5– Last but not least, I have my deepest red, and while some may disagree, it is still red in my book. It’s just a vampy red. I love dark vampy hues, and I feel like I can wear them as frequently as I want during the fall and winter without looking out of place (because, let’s be honest, me and my vampy lips look a little out of place during the spring when everyone is wearing baby pinks and coral). This Anastasia Beverly Hills lipstick dries to a matte finish and lasts for hours. I think I like the Milani formula’s texture and wear to this one, but it’s still a lovely hue that I reach for.
