The hair bun, or hair twist, is one of the fastest hairstyles to put together if you are running late and still need to look presentable before going out the door. Here’s how to do it in three simple steps

How to do a Perfect Hair Bun in 3 Steps

A messy hair bun is a perfect solution for when you’re running late. It’s quick and easy, and all you need is a hair tie. Plus, it looks great with any outfit. Here’s how to do it in three steps

Step 1 – Backcomb your Hair

Start by backcombing your hair to create volume. This will help the messy bun look less, well, messy. Just take a small section of hair from the front of your head and brush it backward towards your crown. Repeat this step until you’ve backcombed all of your hair.

Step 2 – Roll it Up

So, you’ve gathered all of your hair into a ponytail. Great job! Now it’s time to start rolling your hair up into a messy bun. This is where things can get a little tricky – you want to make sure that your bun is messy, but not too messy. Here’s how to do it

Step 1 – Take the hair from the bottom part of your ponytail (the part near the nape of your neck) and split it in two.

Step 2- Take one piece and loop it over the other until you have formed a bun shape, then twist the ends together.

Step 3- With the other piece of hair in front, wrap it around to form another messy bun shape on top, then twist both ends together to secure them tightly.

Step 3 – Smooth it out with some bobby pins

After you’ve got the basic shape of the bun, it’s time to start taming those flyaways. Gather up any pieces of hair that are sticking out and smooth them down with some bobby pins. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect – a messy hair bun is supposed to look, well, messy! Just make sure all the stray hairs are tucked away.
