Organic textiles rule the roost in such cases of sustainability. Textiles that are called organic are grown in a controlled and monitored atmosphere. They are grown naturally without any pesticides or fertilizers used. The fabrics are processed using specific organic techniques and are tested for additives. The fabric should contain at least  95% of organic fiber to be called organic fabrics or material.

When we think of fashion, we always think of fabrics first and what comfort they would bring if fabrics are made of sustainable materials. Such is the situation now that we need to rely on alternate solutions, as the fashion industry is in major need of such fabrics.

Various fabric materials are used to suit the fashion needs of the communities. Organic cotton is one such material. It is commonly used, as it is breathable in summer and hence becomes a favorite amongst people living in humid climatic conditions. Recycled cotton is sustainable as it has the potential to help reduce water and energy consumption to a large extent.

Organic-Linen derived from the flax plant is a centuries-old natural fiber. It requires very small amounts of water and pesticides and can grow in any kind of soil. All parts of the plant are used and so there is no wastage. Linen is light, is considered biodegradable, and can also withstand high temperatures.

Organic Silk is produced by various insects while they are building their cocoons or websIt is a natural fabric and contains protein fibers. It is perfect as a bridal fabric and is preferred by many.

Organic Hemp is one of the most eco-friendly fabrics around. It is high-yielding and requires much less water than organic cotton. It absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and is considered a carbon-negative raw material. It is slightly more expensive than other organic fabrics and is harder to grow.

Organic Bamboo, bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on our planet. Bamboo can survive on rainfall and does not require many nutrients. Organic Bamboo can be turned into one of the most sustainable fabrics.

Organic Jute is considered as one such organic fabric. It is biodegradable and sturdy. It is also recyclable. Organic Wool is a renewable fiber and is termed eco-friendly. Organic wool follows various eco-friendly processes and hence is safe to use.

 Organic clothing has caught the fancy of different manufacturers and they have started growing interest in Eco-fashion. Environment-friendly clothing is accepted by people of all ages. It is soft and the fabric does not colorfast. Organic fibers use very less water. There are no chemical retentions from organic clothing and so people with different chemical allergies or any other chemical sensitivity will be benefited by using organic fabrics. 

Eco-friendly organic fabrics absorb moisture, reflect and absorb light and so they are suitable to be used in any weather. Chemical processes are not used for organic clothing; and the color palette for organic fabrics is limited, generally earthy colors. Organic fabrics are easy to be taken care of, they can be washed in a machine with cold water.
