MEN’S WRISTWATCH PT:2

The Men’s Wristwatch has always kept time mechanically by transmitting energy from the mainspring of the watch through a succession of springs, gears, and other parts. However, quartz watches were created in 1969. These watches run on a battery and keep time by sending electrical vibrations via a quartz crystal.

Tissot Seastar 2000 Powermatic 80 Men’s Wristwatch

Deep-sea enthusiasts are drawn to Tissot’s most robustly attractive dive watch so far because of its unilateral dive-scale bezel alongside engraved ceramic insert, integrated helium discharge valve at 9 o’clock, and its most striking feature, a turquoise-blue gradient dial with an engraved wave motif with nautical inspiration. Water resistance for the 46-mm titanium case is a very “expert” 600 meters. The Seastar Professional 2000 features one of Tissot’s most expensive movements, the Swatch Group-exclusive Powermatic 80, which is based on the common ETA 2824 but has an improved power reserve of 80 hours.

Since it was first introduced in 2015, this Oris Diving Sixty-Five has had tremendous success. Since then, Commander Chief Carl Brashear, a legendary Navy diver plus the first black US Naval Master Diver, has been honored by Oris with a number of variations with various color displays and case materials that have pleased enthusiasts. The bronze case and midnight blue dial of the Carl Brashear Calibre 401 Special Edition (2,000 pieces) each have a subsidiary second dial at 6 o’clock. The watch is driven by Oris’ in-house Calibre 401, which boasts a remarkable battery life of 120 hours and beats at 4Hz.

The cuff of your long sleeve shirt should cover your watch while your arm is flat and show it when your elbow is bent when you’re wearing one. This places the wristwatch just above the tip of the arm’s long bones. If a watch is allowed to sag down toward the hand, it will inhibit movement around the wrist joint and is out of place.

When the arm is hanging down, the band should be snug enough to prevent the watch from twisting around the wrist and falling toward the hand. Professional sizing may be necessary for metal bands; leather and woven bands do not. Traditionally, a watch is put on the wrist opposite your dominant arm—on the opposite side of your wrist for righties and lefties, respectively.
