If you’ve been checking up on the winter trends lately, you’ve probably noticed that the heritage trend is right up there. On the fabric front, anything somewhat classic, from tweed to checkered to houndstooth and herringbone and beyond, will suffice. I like tweed as much as the next gal, but the checkered trousers are my go-to winter fabric, therefore checkered trousers are my go-to this season, and today’s blog article is all about how to style them.
Cropped pants are my favorite style of pants, so when I saw these brand trousers, I knew I had to have them. They have a slight give in the fabric, so they’ll keep you comfortable all day (whatever you’re doing), and they’re the right crop length for me. I paired them with a slogan tee, a cotton sweater and blazer, and glittering block heels in this look.
Legacy pattern pants are available in a variety of shapes and sizes this season, so there’s something for everyone. They’re perfect for everything from professional attire to grounding casual items on the weekend if you want to look more put-together. If you choose a slim fit or tapered crop pair like mine, you can wear them to work with a matching jacket and blouse, or on the weekend, swap the top for a slogan tee. If you happen to catch a cool Autumnal day, pair them with this season’s backless loafers, or toughen them up with white ankle boots.
For a daytime outfit, combine it with an oversized jumper and shoes, or dress it up with a luxurious blazer, silk cami, and velvet heels for a night out with the girls. Remember that the key to a pleasing hemline is to have it hit at the skinniest region of your calf – usually just below the calf but above the ankle, if you’re wearing skinny leg crop print trousers.
