Another fashion week recently ended, and there are many trends and memorable moments to look out for. So, have a look at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week items that caught our eye the most.
One trait that the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week excels at is getting things off to a great start. The fashion police invaded the streets of New York, Paris, London, and Milan before stopping in India and deciding to fill our wardrobes with a variety of designs, colors, and trends, thanks to some of the country’s best designers. The FDCI + Lakmé Fashion Week was a five-day fashion extravaganza that included reimagining classics, honoring craftspeople, and Bollywood glitterati enjoying the runway. Speaking of which, if you still haven’t decided which fashion week event is your favorite, we’ve put together a list of some of the best LFW moments for you to select from.
Top moments at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week
Anju Modi x Tencel India
Anju Modi, who is known for resurrecting ancient crafts, recently presented “Damyanti” at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with Tencel India, transforming the catwalk into a historical location. It was yet another magnificent display of Anju Modi’s sartorial skill, from the man-made cellulose fibers, the brilliant color scheme, and the eco-friendly draperies to Sanjana Sanghi pulling the curtains of the performance.
The theme of Payal Singhal’s performance was “feminine strength.”
Payal Singhal’s unashamed collection included not one, not two, but four divas of the creative world murdering the catwalk: Roshni Chopra, Kompal Matta Kapoor, Nicole Mehta, and Natasha Moor. They did everything from oozing sass to taking over the ramp with feminine strength. In addition to this diva, Mouni Roy gave the performance an extra sparkle.
Shahab Durazi embraces the ramp after 12 years
Returns are always a little bit more special, and this one is especially noteworthy because it took 12 years for one of India’s greatest designers to return to the catwalk. Shahab Durazi’s simple presence at Lakme Fashion Week added another star, and his most recent collection left the audience in awe of the way he combined his core classics with modern haute couture. After more than ten years, it was certainly refreshing to see that charisma and charm.
Rajesh Pratap Singh’s unconventional styles
Rajesh Pratap Singh’s grand finale at the FDCI + Lakmé Fashion Week definitely stole the show amongst all the glitter, vibrancy, and glitz. Sticking to the fundamentals, Singh experimented with a neutral color scheme and put a lot of shiny, dramatic black, futuristic, and outlandish designs on display. To top it all off, Mrunal Thakur appeared on the designer’s runway wearing a timeless black and white suit.
Satya Paul’s adventurous showcase
Let’s just say that these days, snubbing heels and arriving on flashy wheels is what makes you the star of the show. Nevertheless, Satya Paul created such a dreamy landscape at Lakmé Fashion Week. Satya Paul definitely created a picture out of this world, from the digital drama, sassy sports attire, and stunning dances to the audacious prop selections.
Malaika Arora for Limerick by Abir n’ Nanki
When discussing a woman’s resort-wear closet, there is no such thing as having too many prints. Speaking of which, Limerick by Abir n’ Nanki’s most recent LFW presentation took the print to play a bit too literally. Malaika Arora, the hotshot queen of B-Town, served as the collection’s inspiration, murdered in an aquatic three-piece set. If the flair designs and flowing shapes weren’t enough.
